1. Can you send me a passport application form?

You can download the form from the passport section under Consular Affairs

2. How do I renew my Dutch passport?

Passport applications must be made in person at the Netherlands Embassy or Consulates (see Consular Affairs). For further requirements see 'Passports' under Consular Affairs

3. How long does it take to apply for a passport renewal?

Between 4 and 6 weeks

4. Am I eligible for a Dutch passport?

Please refer to nationality information which you can find under Consular Affairs or visit www.ind.nl for more information.

5. I have lost my passport, what do I do now?

First you will have to go to the police and report your passport as missing. This could also be beneficial for insurance purposes. You need to apply for a replacement travel document as soon as possible, as it can take some time to be processed. To apply for a new passport see question 2.

6. Do you arrange for a re-entry in my Dutch passport?

No. Once you have received your new passport you need to apply for a transfer of your visa with the New Zealand Immigration Service. Please contact the New Zealand Immigration at www.immigration.govt.nz

7. How do I obtain a Dutch birth certificate?

You are required to apply at the municipality where you were born. You need to give your full name and date and place of birth.

8. I hold a New Zealand passport. Do I need a visa for the Netherlands?

A New Zealand passport holder can stay up to 90 days without a visa as a tourist in the Schengen-countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland)

9. How long does it take to apply for a Schengen visa?

Applications have to be submitted at least 20 business days prior to departure.  Depending on nationality of applicant the processing time may  take considerably longer.

10. How long does it take to apply for a Working Holiday Scheme visa?

Applications have to be submitted at least 20 business days prior to departure.
